We offer a variety of residential writing retreats based here in the wild, elemental and beautiful Outer Hebrides. For more information on the location and on accommodation options, please visit this page.
- ‘Singing Over the Bones: Women Writing the Wild’ retreats are offered for women each spring. Please visit this page for details of the retreat, and for dates of forthcoming retreats.
- From 2013, a similar week-long retreat for mixed-sex groups will be offered each autumn: please visit this page for details of the ‘Re-enchanting the Earth’ retreat.
- We also offer bespoke retreats, which can be organised for you on request. Because of the seasonal nature of local accommodation availability, generally courses can only be offered between the beginning of April and the end of October, though exceptions may be possible with sufficient advance notice. These retreats and courses can be focused on any area of nature writing or ecopsychology, and include a significant outdoor component, exploring the local wilderness and wildlife. Courses generally last for a week (5-6 days). Costs per participant for tailor-made week-long courses range from £450-£595 per person (full board) depending on numbers and on accommodation requirements.
- We can also offer courses that are a day in duration, for local groups or for groups visiting the island for other purposes. Weekend-long retreats may also be possible.
